Not long ago, the topic "How did he earn 100,000 yuan for one character" went viral, sparking discussions among netizens. "Crack one oracle bone inscription and get a reward of 100,000 yuan" - this is a "wanted poster" issued by the Chinese Character Museum to the public.

 In 2018, one person received this 100,000 yuan reward, and he is Jiang Yubin, a researcher at the Fudan University Center for Excavated Documents and Ancient Writing. His award-winning thesis is "The 'Stupidity' of Oracle Bone Inscriptions and Golden Inscriptions - On relevant issues". He is currently the only person to receive this prize money

The oracle-bone inscriptions were the earliest known Chinese writing carved on tortoise shells or animal bones.

For a long time, the existence of Shang Dynasty could not be confirmed due to the lack of archeological evidence. Then in 1898, the discovery of the oracle-bone inscriptions finally made Shang a true Chinese dynasty.

Oracle-bone inscriptions often capture the essential features of the things they represent. In total, more than 4,500 oracle-bone characters have been discovered and about 2,000 of them have been deciphered. 

In order to better decipher, protect, and promote oracle bone inscriptions, China launched the "Yinxu Oracle Bone Inscription Database" in 2022, which compiles domestic and foreign research on oracle bone inscriptions and introduces a search function for them. 

Through digital technology, China's exploration of early human civilization history is still ongoing.
