Xiamen, a coastal city in East China’s Fujian province, has been gaining a reputation as a hub for the exhibition industry in recent years.

It held a promotional event in Beijing on Mar 20, introducing the city’s high-quality business environment, favorable exhibition policies, modern industrial system and state-of-the-art exhibition center infrastructure.

The city aims to attract more organizations and projects to boost Xiamen as an international and modern exhibition city.

This event marks the second time that the Xiamen has promoted itself nationwide, following a similar promotion held in Shanghai in 2022.

Zhuang Rongliang, vice-mayor of Xiamen, said at the event that the local government has prioritized the development of the exhibition industry, with a focus on enhancing its internationalization, branding, specialization and market orientation.

This is aimed at propelling Xiamen’s transformation into an international exhibition city, advancing the city’s level and assisting high-quality development of the exhibition economy, Zhuang said.

The exhibition center has 11 indoor exhibition halls with an area of 300,000 square meters and an outdoor exhibition area of 55,000 sq m. The conference center has 46 meeting rooms, including a column-free multifunctional meeting room of 11,000 sq m and 45 meeting rooms ranging from 30 to 1,500 sq m.
